Artist Bio

Heather Carter lives and works in Wimberley, Texas. With a BFA in Sculpture from Southwestern University, she is a sculptor and designer. She creates commissioned pieces for public as well as private spaces.

She is a founder and current member of the board of directors of Project Art Wimberley, a non-profit dedicated to supporting art education in public schools.

Her work has been featured in Celebrate Austin magazine as well as Texas Monthly magazine. In 2006, Souls of the Trees was commissioned by the City of Austin for the Spicewood Springs Public Library.

Heather's Lifeboats series has been featured in five different exhibit spaces including our own Leaning Pear in Wimberley, Austin City Hall, Gallery Shoal Creek in Austin and has been shown as a solo exhibit at Texas State University, San Marcos and Southwestern University, Georgetown.

Heather was the general contractor and designer of her family’s home, which has been featured in nationally syndicated publications,
